NCM Office in Latvia participated in the first conversation festival LAMPA by setting up a “Norden” tent, arranging participation of Latvia-based Russian news agency Meduza (meduza.io/en), organizing a discussion on independent Russian media and by supporting organisation of the festival financially. The Almedalen Week in Gotland (Sweden), the “Folkemødet” People’s Meeting in Bornholm (Denmark) and the more recently organised Festival of Opinion Culture – Arvamus Festival in Estonia have served as sources of inspiration. LAMPA organisers consider it of utmost importance to promote the Nordic culture of transparency, accountability, democracy, equality and common-sense in consensus-seeking also in Latvia. The organisers are planning to strengthen the Nordic dimension and cooperate closely with the organizers of similar festivals /people’s meetings in Denmark, Sweden, Estonia and Finland. Annual meetings will be organized on the sidelines of one of the festivals to share experience and know-how.
